When ASUSTeK released their first Eee PC, the portable computer market had never seen such a product. Aimed to provide users with a product that was both affordable and equipped with a decent number of features, the Eee PC has had some considerable success. Other manufacturers have taken Asus' product as a model and then released their own version of the Eee PC. One such company is Hong Kong-based Bestlink, which has recently released its Alpha 400 notebook.
This notebook has been featured with a price tag of $250, which also includes shipping. The rather small price tag will provide users with an ultra portable that features a 7-inch LCD screen, most probably the product's most significant feature. The Asian company had to make a few compromises in order to get to lower the price so much. In the end, all those compromises can be seen in the technical specifications of the computer.
Acquiring an Alpha 400 notebook will mean users will get a portable computer that features an Ingenic Semiconductors 32-bit XBurst CPU. This central processing unit has been designed to work at a frequency rate of 400MHz, which appears to be enough to satisfy both the unnamed Linux OS and Windows CE. You will also get 128MB of RAM memory and a maximum storage space of 2 GB on a flash-based internal storage solution. The technical specs clearly separate this product from all the other Windows XP capable portable computers.
Alpha 400 has USB support, which you can use to extend your overall storage capacity. When it comes to connectivity too, Bestlink was also forced to make serious compromises. The notebook doesn't provide WiFi support, but an Ethernet port is available. There are two USB ports and you will be able to connect a headphone or a Mic device through the provided Audio ports.
The Asian-made notebook measures 8.3 x 5.6 x 1.3 inches, has a total weight of 1.5 pounds and is apparently available in six colors.

Tips berbagai cara menyimpan satu halaman web
Ketika kita menjumpai halaman web dengan artikel yang menarik, dan ingin disimpan penuh termasuk gambarnya, maka pada umumnya bisa digunakan menu standard : File > Save as ( Internet Explorer atau Opera ) atau Save Page as ( Mozilla Firefox ) kemudian dibagian save as type dipilih Web Page, Complete, sehingga seluruh halaman web akan tersimpan. Tetapi hal ini ada beberapa kelemahan, yaitu banyaknya file yang akan ikut tersimpan dan jika ada satu image yang loading (tampil) nya lama, maka sering halaman web tidak bisa tersimpan. Adakah alternatif atau cara lain yang lebih baik ?
Berikut beberapa alternatif atau cara lain jika kita ingin menyimpan penuh satu halaman web.
Menyimpan dalam web archive
Bagi pengguna Opera mungkin sudah tidak asing dengan fasilitas ini. Kita dapat menyimpan satu halaman penuh termasuk gambar yang ditampilkan dalam sebuah file saja ( Web Archive ), yang bisa ditampilkan di web browser secara offline. Caranya melalui menu File > save as, kemudian dari window yang tampil dipilih tipe ( bagian Save as type ) web archive ( single file), file nantinya akan tersimpan dalam format *.mht ( Multipurpose Internet Mail Extension HTML / MHTML / MHT ) . Bagi pengguna Internet Explorer, mulai versi 7 fasilitas ini juga telah tersedia, yaitu ketika menyimpan halaman memilih tipe Web Archive, single file ( *.mht).
Menyimpan dalam format pdf
Hal ini sangat berguna jika kita ingin menghasilkan satu halaman web dalam bentuk pdf. Bagaimana caranya ? Gunakan saja software gratis seperti PDF Creator, CutePDf, PrimoPDF dan sejenisnya. Bisa dilihat artikel : Membuat dokumen PDF gratis dan mudah. Jika software ini sudah diinstall, kemudian kita ingin menyimpan halaman dalam format pdf, tinggal memilih menu File > Print, kemudian pada bagian Printer - Name dipilih software pdf yang telah diinstall, misalnya CutePDF, PDF Creator atau lainnya lalu klik Print. Dengan aplikasi ini kita bisa mencetak apa saja dan dari tampilan apa saja ( asal ada menu Print ) dalam format Pdf. Sepertinya Mozilla Firefox 3 nantinya akan menyertakan fasilitas save as pdf sedangkan browser Safari sudah menyertakan fasilitas ini sejak awal.
Menyimpan dalam format Image
Hal ini mungkin jarang kita ketahui, dengan fasilitas ini kita bisa menyimpan tampilan web dalam image. Untuk bisa melakukan hal ini, diperlukan browser Mozilla Firefox dan tambahan plugins, salah satunya yang bernama Save as image. Install plugin dari sini. Setelah diinstall dan Firefox di restart (jalankan ulang), akan tampil sub menu tambahan “Save Page As Image”, tinggal dipilih menu File > Save Page As Image. Maka akan tampil image yang akan disimpan dengan beberapa pilihan Style, area dan output (Format dan Quality). Kita bisa memilih format PNG, JPG atau GIF.
Bisa juga menyimpan dalam format image dengan aplikasi screenshot, seperti SnagIT dan sebagainya, tetapi hal itu kurang praktis.
